The fiddle-leaf fig – also known as Ficus lyrata – owes its name to its exceptionally large, dark green, glossy leaves, which resemble the body of a violin. It belongs to the mulberry family (Mauraceae) and is particularly popular because it is very easy to grow. It also thrives in hydroponics. It is very low-maintenance and requires little water. This trendy plant prefers a bright or partially shaded location.
