The Ficus 'Ginseng' originates from Southeast Asia, specifically India, Malaysia, and Australia. Today, it can also be found in Southern Europe, for example, in the Balearic Islands. In Germany, this heat-loving plant from the mulberry family is mostly offered as a bonsai and cultivated exclusively in pots as a houseplant. A partially shaded location is important for the bonsai. The soil should always be kept moderately moist, but waterlogging and overwatering should be avoided. Caution is advised, as all parts of the Ficus 'Ginseng' are poisonous.
