This set of three popular houseplants includes the Livistona, a fan palm native to Java. It is generally a slow-growing plant, but can grow quickly in warmer temperatures, bright locations, and sufficiently humid conditions. It has a smooth, gray trunk from which circular, dark to medium green leaves emerge. The evergreen areca palm, also known as the golden cane palm, brings a touch of tropical paradise to your home year-round. Its air-purifying properties also improve the indoor climate. It is distinguished by its opulent, umbrella-shaped crown with sweeping, cascading fronds. Since the areca palm originates in the humid tropics of Madagascar, the soil should be kept consistently moist, but not waterlogged. It prefers a bright location but cannot tolerate direct sunlight. Ficus elastica, also known as the rubber tree, belongs to the mulberry family and originates from India and Indonesia. There, the rubber tree can grow up to 25 meters tall. In Germany, it was a particularly popular houseplant in the 1980s. For the past few years, it has been experiencing a comeback. The "Robusta" variety is a very easy-care and robust type, whose leathery, vibrant green leaves make it an excellent specimen plant for offices or living rooms.
